Speed, Distance and Time
You know how in my previous post I was talking about relocation?
(if you don't, go check it out here is the link)
Alright, so most of you already know, I was thrown into a new country all of a sudden. Albeit, that's a topic for another day. The biggest factor affected by this destructive shifting was my friendship.🔆
I was a young child in grade 3, and I remember a conversation I had with my best friend at that time.
"Look at those big kids" I said. "They walk as if they own the place".
"Yeah, and they get to go anywhere they want. They are even allowed to go without asking teachers!" Katherine, my bestie from ages ago said.
"Oh, I want to grow up" I said with a sigh.
"Don't worry, we'll be like them soon, I'll probably be in this school until I'm old." Katherine said.
"Yeah, me too....I'll probably be here till I grow into an adult".
Little did we know, I wasn't there my whole life. 😔
It's so beautiful how we think something is gonna happen but it doesn't. And all of your plans change and Voila! You're living a life which you never expected!
Oh well, back to the topic. So, I changed schools and not only schools, but also continents! Think of my poor soul! Stranded in a sea of strangers! (okay, that was a bit dramatic...apologies!).😁
Well anyways, for today, let's break the general consensus that DISTANCE (along with speed and time) influence your friendship.
So like so many other innocent (Ha!) teens, I also believed that my friendships would end as soon as my feet left my quiet little town. That's to be expected...I mean friendships end as soon as you go further away from your friend, Right?
WRONG!😆
I remember Chloe cried A LOT when I got in the van to leave. It broke my heart to see her weep like that. I remember feeling like a piece of dirt, even though the move wasn't my fault. But I felt as if I was ready. Ready to let go of my friends. And I wasn't.
Chloe had sent me an email, which I read at the Changi airport (the airport is FAB). The email made my day! She was sooo supportive! When I finished with the hectic shifting, my friendship hit a dessert.
We just didn't talk..which was just...bad. Mainly because of 3 reasons-
1. Distance
- We are 11810 km away from each other! How can you even talk to a person so far with interest?
2. Time
- DUDE! The time difference is almost 12 HRS! I woke up when she had lunch. And then who invests so much time...
3. Speed
- The speed by which you settle in a new place is OVERWHEMING! How can someone even remember the old friendships?😒
Okay, I know what you're thinking. I'm a terrible friend. And it does look like that on paper (or the screen). But really when you go through it in real life, it doesn't make any sense believe me, I hardly knew what I was doing.
But then...
Chloe and I figured out, our friendship is too good to let it slip away. So we started texting, about normal stuff. It was like we didn't know each other anymore. We're still working on it now!
And now we've seen that-
1. Distance
- DOES NOT influence your friendship. Infact, it's much more exciting to know about your beloved BFF having awesome experiences!
2. Time
- ARE YOU KIDDING ME? What type of a person can not spare out time for their friends? That's just DISGUSTING!😞
3. Speed
- Honestly people, I was so DUMB earlier. I mean UGH! Speed doesn't even matter. If you have a true friend, they'll understand. And if you're ditching your BFF for the sake of new, popular kids
GET YOUR PRIORITIES STRAIGHT!
So people, if you really, truly have a best friend you'll give the world for, nothing matters!
It's just you and them!
No anything!!!!!!
So, Get up and talk to your best friend! (And hey, Shoutout to Chloe!) 😀
Done it? You rock!👊

The main thing is that it's not entered on girls, tbh, all the teen blogs I've been to has "makeup, fashion and stuff like that" but you're different, your blog is much more descriptive and guess what?
